ACOC welcomed Melissa Parent to the Committee

Minutes of previous meetings and business arising

Kevin resigned from his position on ACOC and as JSC representative.   Ebe has taken on the JSC role.  Melissa Parent has been confirmed as the new ALIA member on ACOC 

Ebe confirmed that many proposed additions to Relationship Designators are going through as fast tracks.  Jenny offered to write a fast track proposal for “Writer of Foreword” 

Proposed discussion schedule for 2014 proposals and discussion papers

Catherine and Jenny created a schedule in the lead up to the October 3 deadline for responding to proposals and papers 

ACOC discussion on proposals

ALA/Discussion/ 4     Transcription issues associated with production statement (RDA 2.7)

ACOC made comments on the questions proposed in the paper. ACOC also discussed the recommendations proposed in the paper  

The paper puts forward some changes to RDA (Appendix 1).  ACOC agreed to making a general statement expressing interest in seeing how these changes would translate into a formal proposal 

6JSC/LC/28     Revision to RDA 2.4.1.8

ACOC generally supports this proposal however would like clarification that both statements proposed at 2.4.1.8 apply.  ACOC’s response will assume this is the case and will propose also amending the examples and a corresponding instruction at 2.3.4 

6JSC/ALA/31  Subject relationship element in RDA chapter 23

ACOC supports the general nature and simplicity of the proposal.  Discussion deferred to next meeting

 6JSC/TechnicalWG/3 High-level subject relationship in RDA

The purpose of this paper appears to be to bring WEMI relationships in line with FRSAD.  Discussion deferred to next meeting
