Strategies and Policies
This page will be used for posting information about the
strategies and policies that institutions have created to help them deal with
their cellulose acetate collections.
If you have developed a strategy or policy on cellulose
acetate and it is not listed here, please contact
our office and we will include it on this page.
National Library of Australia
The National Library of Australia (NLA) has developed its
own Strategy for Cellulose Acetate and is in
the process of implementing this strategy. The strategy was developed in
cooperation with collection managers from special collection areas including
Pictorial, Manuscripts, Oral History and Maps. Because the Pictorial collection
contains the most amount of cellulose acetate material at the NLA, the strategy
was first implemented on items in this collection. As the project has
progressed, the Manuscript and Maps collections have also been examined and
progress is now being made in all these areas.
State Library of New South Wales
The State Library of New South Wales is in the initial
stages of developing a cellulose acetate strategy and have developed these
recommendations.
