Academic Search PremierEBSCO Publishing: Academic Search Premier is an academic collection of full text peer-reviewed journals. It contains over 4,500 journals in full text, with more than 3,7000 being peer reviewed. PDF back files dating to 1975 or earlier are provided for more than 100 journals. A broad range of subject areas are covered including including biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, psychology, and religion & theology. Also contains links to other Ebsco databases: Business Source Premier, MasterFILE Premier, Health Source Nursing/Academic, Australia New Zealand Reference Centre. These databases are updated daily. Available for document delivery to Australian libraries.
Informit: Provides a listing of significant events in Australian history with emphasis on current happenings; it covers all topics from politics and law to the arts and sport.
ACT MemorialACT Government: The ACT Memorial honours men and women who have an association with the ACT and who served in conflicts, peacekeeping missions and related service throughout the world, some of whom paid the supreme sacrifice. The Memorial has two parts: the physical Memorial, located opposite Civic Square on London Circuit; and this web site, containing a database of names and information about the people honoured by the Memorial. The website contains a database of people associated with the ACT who are eligible for the Roll of Honour and Commemorative Roll of the Australian War Memorial. It includes those who died during or as a result of war, warlike operations, peace-keeping missions, as the result of military service, or on humanitarian missions.
Deakin University, Faculty of Management & Informit: Arts & Entertainment Management Database (AEM) is a bibliographic database that indexes articles from published and unpublished material on arts and entertainment management. Source documents include journals, books, reports and surveys. Over 30 journal titles are indexed including Artwork magazine, International arts manager, Journal of cultural economics, and Museum news. These journals are indexed selectively for relevant arts and entertainment information. Subject coverage includes the arts and entertainment environment, cultural planning, finance, funding, law, marketing, project/venue management, research, and technology related to the arts and entertainment industry.
AIATSIS Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander StudiesAIATSIS: The Institute seeks to provide understanding of Australian Indigenous cultures, past and present through undertaking and publishing research, and providing access to print and audiovisual collections. It undertakes research in indigenous health and wellbeing, education, history and cultural transmission, language, arts and cultural expression as well as native title and traditional ownership. Access to collections is provided through Mura, the Institute's online catalogue.
AIF ProjectUNSW ADFA: This searchable database provides details on the 330,000 men and women who served overseas in the (First) Australian Imperial Force, 1914-1918. Information has been gathered from a variety of sources.
ABC-CLIO: America; History and Life covers the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. (Literature on the history of the rest of the world is covered in Historical Abstracts.) It indexes over 1,700 journals from 1964 to the present, with full text coverage of approximately 200 journals and 100 books. It includes English abstracts of articles published in over 40 languages.
National Library of Australia and Informit: Australian Public Affairs Full Text (APAFT) contains full text articles and indexed references from Australian journals in the social sciences and humanities, including current affairs, economics, law, literature and politics. Selected overseas sources are also reviewed for material on Australian subjects. This resource commenced in print as the Australian Public Affairs Information Service or APAIS in 1945; online availability dates from 1978. Early issues from 1952-1977 are at RF 016.3 AUS.
Archive of the Royal SocietyRoyal Society Publishing: The Royal Society is the world's oldest scientific publisher and its archive is the most comprehensive in science. Its journal archive, comprising more than 69,000 articles and dating back to 1665 is available online and all articles more than 70 years old are permanently free to access. Mura Gadi is an online guide to significant manuscripts, pictures and oral histories in the National Library of Australia relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples prior to 2003. Although it does not list the many books, periodicals and other publications in the Library relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, these materials can be found using the Library's online catalogue at http://www.nla.gov.au/catalogue/
