American National BiographyOxford University Press: American National Biography is a fully searchable resource offering portraits of more than 18,000 men and women, from all eras and walks of life, who have made an impact on the American nation. Biographical entries include illustrations, hyperlinked cross-references and links to select Web sites. The database is updated quarterly and is the online version of the print resource, "American National Biography".
Australia DancingNational Library of Australia: This resource provides users with access to both current and historical information about dance in Australia. The directory of resources describes dance research materials held by the National Library of Australia, ScreenSound Australia, the National Screen and Sound Archive, and other selected institutions. The directory service is supplemented by other pages enabling discovery, location and access to information about dance in Australia through links to other relevant sites, and through current industry information provided by Ausdance and available on the Ausdance website.

The biographical articles are those found in the printed work which is available in the Main Reading Room at the National Library at RF 920.094 AUS.
Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre (Austehc)University of Melbourne, Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre: Provides access to authoritative information resources dealing with the history and heritage of science, technology and medicine, primarily with an Australian focus. Resources include Bright Sparcs (a biographical database of scientists), the Australian Science at Work Register and the online version of the publication Technology in Australia 1788-1988. It also provides access to finding aids to archival collections of Australian scientists and scientific organisations.

Australian Women's RegisterNational Foundation for Australian Women: Contains biographical data about Australian women and their organisations, with hyper-links to the archival repositories and libraries where their records are held and to other sources of information. Women and women's organisations are listed alphabetically. Searching is also available by functional classification.
Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Popular Musicians Since 1990Thomson Gale: This biographical reference includes more than 550 entries focusing on artists active from 1990-2003. Complete Dictionary of Scientific BiographyGale Cengage Learning: Part of the Gale Virtual Reference Library, the Complete Dictionary of Scientific Biography provides information on the history of science through articles on the professional lives of scientists. All periods of science from classical antiquity to modern times are represented, and entries cover scientists, engineers, inventors and mathematicians.
Connected Histories: Connected Histories provides an integrated search facility for interrogating 11 major electronic resources in early modern and 19th-century British history. The single federated search allows searching of names, places and dates, as well as the ability to save, connect and share resources within a personal workspace. The resources are: Origins.net, Proceedings of the Old Bailey Online 1674-1914, British History Online, British Museum Images, British newspapers 1600-1900, Charles booth Archive, Clergy of the Church of England Database 1540-1835, House of commons Parliamentary Papers, John Johnson Collection of Printed Ephemera, John Strype's Survey of London Online, London Lives 1690-1800. These resources are either available free on the internet or via subscription; the National Library of Australia currently subscribes to all except one (the John Johnson collection of ephemera).
