62. LicencedPolicing the Shanghai International Settlement, 1894-1945

Gale: This collection contains a large portion of the archives of the British run municipal police force based in Shangai's former International Settlement. The most extensive coverage is provided by the Special Branch dossier files, which date from 1929-1945. Other documents include supporting reports, handbills, translations of Chinese press coverage and clippings from the English Language press. Available for document delivery to Australian libraries.

Melbourne University and Monash University Australian Research Council: The Reason in Revolt project aims to bring together primary source documents of Australian radicalism as a readily accessible digitised resource. By 'radical' we refer to those who aimed to make society more equal and to emancipate the exploited or oppressed. As it grows and develops, the project website will become an expanding record of the movements, institutions, venues and publications through which radicals sought to influence Australian society. 67. FreeSouth Seas: Voyaging and Cross-Cultural Encounters in the Pacific (1760-1800)

National Library of Australia: South Seas is an online information resource for the history of European voyaging and cross-cultural encounters in the Pacific between 1760 and 1800. South Seas offers the full text of the holograph manuscript of James Cook's Endeavour Journal. (The National Library of Australia holds the original holograph 'Journal of the HMS Endeavour' in the Manuscripts Collection. This work has been digitised and can be viewed in its entirety at this URL http://nla.gov.au/nla.ms-ms1) The South Seas website also includes the full texts of the journals kept by Joseph Banks and Sydney Parkinson on the voyage. Also included is the text of John Hawkesworth's 'Account of the Voyages undertaken ... in the Southern Hemisphere' (1773).
