A2A : Access to ArchivesGreat Britain. National Archives: The A2A database contains catalogues of archives held across England and dating from the 900s to the present day. These archives are cared for in local record offices and libraries, universities, museums and national and specialist institutions across England, where they are made available to the public.
ACT Electoral Rolls 1916-1967ACT Heritage Library: The A.C.T. electoral rolls for the years 1916, 1917, 1928, 1935, 1943, 1949, 1955, 1959 and 1967.
ACT MemorialACT Government: The ACT Memorial honours men and women who have an association with the ACT and who served in conflicts, peacekeeping missions and related service throughout the world, some of whom paid the supreme sacrifice. The Memorial has two parts: the physical Memorial, located opposite Civic Square on London Circuit; and this web site, containing a database of names and information about the people honoured by the Memorial. The website contains a database of people associated with the ACT who are eligible for the Roll of Honour and Commemorative Roll of the Australian War Memorial. It includes those who died during or as a result of war, warlike operations, peace-keeping missions, as the result of military service, or on humanitarian missions.
Society of Australian Genealogists: This CD contains indexes to 3.9 million records drawn from the collections of 39 family history societies and institutions throughout Australia and New Zealand and is available to researchers in this fully searchable format for the first time. 19th & 20th century data drawn from cemetery records, shipping arrivals, newspaper entries, council rate books and war memorials are among the records included. Each entry shows name, date and type of event and the source from which it is drawn. ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE NEWSPAPER READING ROOM ON JUKE BOX PC.
AIF ProjectUNSW ADFA: This searchable database provides details on the 330,000 men and women who served overseas in the (First) Australian Imperial Force, 1914-1918. Information has been gathered from a variety of sources.
Proquest: This genealogy research website includes the following categories: Census, Marriage & Death, Trees & Community, Immigration Records, Family Facts, Military, Directories & Member Lists, Family & Local Histories, Newspapers & Periodicals, Court, Land & Probate and Reference & Finding Aids. There are billions of records online: some of these records are free for anyone to access, but the majority are accessible only by paid subscription. Ancestry (Library Edition) is a partnership of Ancestry.com and Proquest.
Macbeth Genealogical Services: This index contains over 80,000 references to birth notices and marriages announcements and anniversaries extracted from the Argus. As well as the classified advertisements, articles have been checked. Many of the marriage entries refer to anniversaries of marriages as well as marriage announcements. There are several references to marriages and births interstate and overseas. The publication date of the newspaper in which notice appears is given. The Argus newspaper (1848-1957) is available on microfilm at mfm NX 124 in the Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room.
Assisted British Immigration: Index to Registers of Assisted British Immigrants 1839-1871Public Record Office Victoria: This index lists the names of assisted passengers who boarded ships to Victoria, Australia, from Britain between 1839 and 1871. The results screen displays some detail on each passenger and a reference to the book and page on which the information can be found in the registers. These registers are available on microfiche at mcN 761 in the Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room on Open Access.
