Macbeth Genealogical Services: This index contains over 80,000 references to birth notices and marriages announcements and anniversaries extracted from the Argus. As well as the classified advertisements, articles have been checked. Many of the marriage entries refer to anniversaries of marriages as well as marriage announcements. There are several references to marriages and births interstate and overseas. The publication date of the newspaper in which notice appears is given. The Argus newspaper (1848-1957) is available on microfilm at mfm NX 124 in the Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room.

Public Record Office Victoria: This index lists the names of assisted passengers who boarded ships to Victoria, Australia, from Britain between 1839 and 1871. The results screen displays some detail on each passenger and a reference to the book and page on which the information can be found in the registers. These registers are available on microfiche at mcN 761 in the Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room on Open Access.

The index covers all the ports although they can be searched as separate indexes for: Port Phillip (1839 - 1851) Sydney and Newcastle (1844 - 1859) Moreton Bay (1848 - 1859), Sydney (1860-1879) and Sydney (1880 - 1896). The index contains references to Persons on Bounty Ships to New South Wales, Newcastle on microfilm on Open Access in the Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room.
