Indigenous Studies Program, The University of Melbourne: The Agreements, Treaties and Negotiated Settlements database (ATNS) is an online gateway to a wealth of information relating to agreements between indigenous people and others in Australia and overseas. The database offers a range of features including background information on each agreement; links to related agreements, organisations, signatories and events; a glossary of relevant terminology as well as direct access to published and on-line resources.

Commonwealth of Australia: APSJOBS provides information on vacancies within the Australian Public Service. Also provides access to previous issues of the electronic APS Employment Gazette plus links to employment opportunities within the various state governments. Other electronic government gazettes are also linked to, including the Government Notices Gazette, the Special Notices Gazette and the Periodic Notices Gazette.

Australian Government Information Management Office: This is a whole-of-government single point of access (portal) that provides access to Internet-based government information and services across federal, State, Territory and Local levels.

4. FreeAustralian Government and Politics Database

University of Western Australia: Provides information on Australian government and politics at both state and Commonwealth level. Information includes state-wide and nation-wide electoral results, party listings, governments information including premiers and prime ministers, party compositions within the State and Commonwealth parliaments. Information on current politics and government is presented, but the database also contains the historical information presented in the four print volumes compiled by Colin Hughes called 'Handbook of Australian government and politics' covering the years 1890-1999.

Institute for Social Research, Swinburne University of Technology: Policy Online is a research database and alert service providing free access to full text research reports and papers, statistics and other resources essential for public policy development and implementation in Australia and New Zealand.

6. OnsiteAustralian Public Affairs Full Text APAFT

RMIT Publishing: Australian Public Affairs - Full Text is an online collection of scanned images of articles from more than 500 Australian journals indexed in APAIS, the Australian Public Affairs Information Service produced by the National Library of Australia. Key topics include environment, globalisation, history, industrial relations, immigration, politics, social policy, public health and national identity. Key journals include Australian Aboriginal Studies, Australian Health Review, Australian Historical Studies; Communication, Journal of Industrial Relations, Journal of Australian Political Economy and Oceania. Commenced as the Australian Public Affairs Information Service or APAIS in 1945; online availability dates from 1978; full text (as APAFT) dates from 1995. Early issues of APAIS from 1952-1977 are held in the Main Reading Room of the National Library at RF 016.3 AUS.

7. FreeAustralian State and Territory Parliamentary Databases

: This site is a gateway to the parliamentary websites for all States and Territories. From the parliamentary websites it is possible to access a range of information including links to Hansard (records of debates of the legislative assembly), Bills (legislation currently before parliament), Speeches by members, biographical information about members of parliament, reports of standing and select committees and additional information such as resources for students and teachers and live broadcasts of sittings.

RMIT Publishing: Covers Indonesian politics, government, economy, political culture and demography. Original source material is usually in either English or Indonesian.

9. FreeBiographical Register of members of the Parliament of Western Australia

Parliament of Western Australia: The Biographical Register contains basic biographical information on elected and nominated members of the Parliament of Western Australia since 1870. Biographical information in the Register includes birth date and place, education, family, profession, employment, parliamentary and political party service. The database also includes a bibliography of member's books, articles, speeches and oral histories. It also includes inaugural or maiden speeches where found in Hansard.

10. FreeBOPCRIS: British Official Publications

University of Southhampton: A collection of scanned images of 18th, 19th and 20th Century British Official Publications. It includes legislation as well as parliamentary histories and other parliamentary texts such as committee reports.
