House of Commons Parliamentary PapersProquest: HCPP Onine provides online access to the nineteenth century parliamentary papers of Britain. As the working documents of government, parliamentary papers encompass all areas of social, political, economic and foreign policy, showing how issues were explored and legislation was formed. The House of Commons Parliamentary Papers are vital to the historical record of Britain, its former Colonies and the wider world. HCPP online brings together two resources: the Chadwyck-Healey microfiche edition of the nineteenth century House of Commons Sessional Papers and the accompanying 5 volume index, Peter Cockton's 'Subject Catalogue of the House of Commons Parliamentary Papers, 1801-1900'. HCPP currently contains an index for all parliamentary papers from 1801-2004, and full text for 1801-1900.

In a very few cases, the information provided is little more than name, date, and district, however a careful reading of the source document may fill in pertinent details. In many cases, the information is more detailed and provides valuable leads to other material, however it must be remembered that the references are to government business, not church or private business matters.
