Parliamentary Library's Index to Australian Parliamentary PapersParliamentary Library: This index was previously available only as an internal database. Parliamentary papers are documents and papers tabled in the Commonwealth Parliament. There are two types: 1. The Parliamentary Papers Series consists of reports, returns and statements from departments, authorities, parliamentary and ad hoc committees of inquiry and royal commissions. Documents in this series bear a Parliamentary Paper Number (eg 42/99) and are available for those outside Parliament from the National Library of Australia and State Libraries ; 2. Documents presented to Parliament which are not ordered to be printed. These may be inspected at the offices of the Clerks, by arrangement.
Parliament of AustraliaParliament of Australia: The website includes links to Hansard, Bills, committees and publications as well as ParlInfo, the Parliamentary Document Repository. Information about curent and historical parliaments (including links to Australian state and territory parliaments), elections and referendums, publications and key Internet links are available through the Parliamentary Library link.
Political Resources on the NetThis resource lists political sites sorted by country, with links to parties, organisations, governments, media and more from all around the world.
Publications RegisterAustralian Government Information Management Office: The Publications Register provides access to a range of resources on Australian Government publications. Options include searching or browsing government agency listings for publication information. There are also links to existing online publication resources. This site does not directly sell or otherwise provide publications to the public but aims to help users find publications and/or information on how to obtain the publication on the website of the publishing agency. Australian Government agencies are responsible for the production and distribution of the publications that they create.
Public Service GazetteCommonwealth of Australia: Public Service issues of the Gazette contain notices concerning administrative matters required under the Public Service Act 1999 and associated determinations, regulations and Public Service Commissioner Directions. Such matters include notice of examinations, APS Employment Opportunities, staff movements to APS employment opportunities, promotions and termination of employment of ongoing public servants. The PS Gazette may also contain employment opportunities available in the Parliamentary Service as well as some movements made under the Parliamentary Service Act 1999. From time to time Australian Government statutory authorities and international organisations may notify employment opportunities on this site.
THOMAS : Legislative Information on the Internet (USA)Library of Congress: THOMAS is a comprehensive site containing a large range of US government publications, legislation, committee reports, House and Senate Directories and historical documents. Included are Bill Summary & Status; Bill Text; Public Laws; the Congressional Record; Committee Reports; Appropriations Bills, Presidential Nominations; Treaties; and links to Days in Session Calendar; US Government Historical documents; How Congress Makes Laws; Executive Branch; Judicial Branch; and State Resources.
Chadwyck-Healey and the Stationery Office: UKOP is the official catalogue of The Stationery Office with the Catalogue of Official Publications Not Published by the Stationery Office. It contains thousands of bibliographic records for official publications from 1980 onwards, and it comprehensively catalogues the publishing output of over 2000 official bodies including: Parliament; Devolved administrations; Government departments; Qangos; Agencies; International bodies, including the United Nations and the World Health Organisation. UKOP also contains the full text of thousands of publications. This resource is available in alternative formats: Print at S 015.41053 GRE and Microfilm at mc 396.
Victoria Government Gazette 1836-1997State Library of Victoria: This online archive of historic government gazettes provides access to over 160 years of official information published in and about Victoria. It contains images of every relevant page in the Victoria Government Gazette produced since 1836, as well as searchable indexes for each publication. First published in the earliest days of the colony, the Victoria Government Gazette (1836 to 1997) documents the official notifications of government decisions and legal actions to other governments, government agencies and the general public.
World StatesmenBen Cahoon: This site is an encyclopedia of the heads of state and heads of government (and, in certain cases, de facto leaders occupying neither of those formal positions) of all countries and territories of the world. Also included are general facts about the polities themselves. Subdivisions of some countries are presented including traditional polities, provinces, and states. This site also lists the leaders of international, religious, and United States governmental organizations.
