The Australian Indigenous Index (previously INFOKOORI)is an index to the Koori Mail (http://www.koorimail.com/), a national fortnightly newspaper published in Lismore, NSW, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The first issue was 23 May 1991. It reports on people, issues and events that affect indigenous peoplesfrom all over Australia - from an indigenous perspective. The Index also includes biographical material on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples form the magazines: Dawn (1952-1969), New Dawn 1970-1975) and Identity (1971-1982). Other historical information about Aboriginal people and communities from newspapers published in NSW, is also being added to the Index.
