The database aspires to list all research into Australian media history by established academics, early career researchers, research higher degree students, and independent scholars.

Ships' surgeons, convict doctors, general practitioners and medical specialists are included.

Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments: The Australian National Shipwreck Database includes all known shipwrecks in Australian waters and allows users to search for those historic shipwrecks protected by Commonwealth or State/Territory legislation. This information has been collected by each of the State historic shipwreck agencies and the data are subject to ongoing editing and refining. State or Territory agencies can provide the most up-to-date information about a particular shipwreck and also maintain databases for their State or Territory.

Paul Camp, Steve Wolf and Jim Gray: This website is a dedication to the Australian Union and Confederate Veterans of the American Civil War of 1861 to 1865. It has been created from numerous sources, government documents, research libraries and hundreds of pieces of information emailed in, and donated, by individuals from all over Australia and the United States. It includes work by individuals in both the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Sons of Union Veterans, the American Civil War Round Table of Queensland, the American Civil War Round Table of Australia, the late Roy Parker and others.

Australian National Botanic Gardens: Contains images from the botanic collections of the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Portraits of plant flowers form the bulk of the Index, but photographs of fruit, bark, shrubs or whole trees are also included. Most of the collection consists of identified Australian plant species, but there is also a large number of environmental and conservation images.
