Dacheng shu ju you xian gong si: Dacheng Old Journal Full-text Database includes a collection of 7,000 periodicals, 130,000 issues and 1.3 million articles, which were published from 1840 to 1949 in mainland China. Many of the periodicals in Dacheng database are rare and unique during late Qing Dynasty. Subjects covered include philosophy, economic, politics, military, industry, agriculture, transportation, literature ,history, geography , astronomy and astrology.

Theses originate from 300 universitities in 19 European countries. Theses are available in full text.

3. OnsiteDatabase on English Language Teaching for Adults in Australasia - DELTAA

Informit: A bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles from published and unpublished material on English second language learning and teaching in Australasia from 1982-86, then 1990 onwards. Source documents include print, non-print and electronic resources in a wide range of formats. Subject coverage includes adult basic education, adult immigrant education, Adult Migrant English Program, applied linguistics, cross cultural communication, English as a second language, English in the workplace, literacy, second language instruction and second language learning.

4. FreeDatabases of the Australian Biological Resources Study

: These databases provide online delivery of taxonomic and biological information on species known to occur in Australia, including flora, fauna, algae. Includes the ABRS glossaries and a collection of useful related links.

5. FreeDawn and New Dawn

AIATSIS: Dawn and New Dawn were magazines published between 1952-1975 by the New South Wales Aborigines Welfare Board, with the aim of providing interesting information and an exchange of news and views. The Dawn and New Dawn also served as a way for people to keep in contact. Today the magazines are a valuable source of family history information as they include details of births, deaths, marriages and baptisms, as well as hundreds of photographs. They also contain articles about the conditions and activities on reserves, stations, homes and schools throughout New South Wales. During its time of publication the magazines were also used to highlight the work of the Aboriginal Welfare Board. An index to biographical information contained within the newspapers is available on the Australian Indigenous Index produced by the State Library of New South Wales.

David & Julie Dern: Contains over 85,000 monumental transcriptions from 250 of Queensland's country cemeteries. Listed alphabetically by surname, the inscription details are all listed afterwards, together with the cemetery that they came from.

Design and Art Australia Online is an open source freely accessible scholarly e-Research tool that presents biographical data about Australian artists, designers, craftspeople and curators.

8. FreeDictionary of Australian Biography

Project Gutenberg of Australia: Online version of the Dictionary of Australian Biography by Percival Serle published in 1949. It contain 1030 biographies of Australians who were closely connected with Australia and who died before the end of 1942. Also available in print in the Main Reading Room of the National Library at RF 920.094 S485.

Dictionary of Canadian Biography: An online version of the printed Dictionary of Canadian Biography, this site provides biographies of Canadians who died between the years 1000 and 1930 or whose last known date of activity falls within these years. The site will be continually updated and expanded with new information.
