State Records Authority of New South Wales: The index covers records maintained by the Governors' Secretaries, reflecting all aspects of the administration of the Australian colony from 1788 to 1825. The Index is arranged by surname and subject, concentrating on the early inhabitants of our nation; the convicts, settlers, indigenous Australians and colonial officials. It also contains entries relating to ships, subjects, towns and localities. The index contains references to the Colonial Secretaries Papers 1788-1825, available on microfiche (mc N 763) or microfilm (mfm N 257) in the Newspapers and Family History zone of the Main Reading Room.

The complete published set of this series is available in the Main Reading Room Reference Collection at the National Library at RF 994 HIS. 23. Onsite(CDROM)Index to the Parliamentary Papers for the Colony of Victoria 1852-1869

Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies: This resource covers a range of papers tabled before both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council including: Reports from Government Departments; Select Committee Inquiries into a variety of matters; Civil Service Lists which include government employees; and Government Tenders, accepted and rejected. The purpose of this index is to gain access to the many instances in which the 'ORDINARY' person is referred to in government papers. In a very few cases, the information provided is little more than name, date, and district, however a careful reading of the source document may fill in pertinent details. In many cases, the information is more detailed and provides valuable leads to other material, however it must be remembered that the references are to government business, not church or private business matters.

24. FreeIndex to Unassisted Inward Passenger Lists to Victoria 1852-1923

Public Records Office Victoria: Searchable index to names of unassisted passengers who boarded ships to Victoria, Australia, from British and Foreign ports between 1852 and 1923. The results screen displays some detail on each passenger and Port type (B, F or N), fiche and page numbers where more detail can be found in the passenger lists. These registers are available on microfiche at mc N 1135 (Foreign ports), mc N 1655 (British ports) and mc N 2256 (New Zealand ports) in the Newspapers and Family History zone of the Main Reading Room.

Genealogical Society of Victoria: This CD is an amalgamation of indexes to records of eight hospitals. They are all admission records, except those called the Kyneton Hospital Family Record: Amherst Hospital 1869-1888, Ballarat Hospital 1856-1913, Castlemaine Hospital 1855-1920, Castlemaine Benevolent Asylum 1860-1922, Creswick Hospital 1863-1894, Creswick Hospital outpatients 1873-1877, Dunolly Hospital 1860-1900, Kyneton Hospital Admissions Register 1862-1885, Kyneton Hospital Family Record 1869-1884, Maldon Hospital 1864-1905, Maryborough Hospital 1855-1907. The indexes comprises ten fields of information: surname; given names(s); admission date; age of patient; patients's place of birth; whether single, married or widowed; occupation; residence; and source. Archives Office of Tasmania: The Archives Office of Tasmania holds records relating to probate including wills, 'grants of probate', and Letters of Administration up to the mid 1990s. This online index covers the period 1824 to 1989 and contains links to some digitised wills.
