Gale Cengage Learning: Gale's Literary Index provides quick and easy access to the printed editions of our 43 literary series. These series contain complete biographies on authors and critical essays on their writings.

2. FreeGENUKI: UK and Ireland Genealogy

GENUKI is a comprehensive virtual reference library of genealogical information that is of particular relevance to the UK & Ireland. It is organised so as to make it easy to find what information on what topics is available online related to given geographical localities (even down to parish level). It is a noncommercial service, provided by an ever-growing group of volunteers in cooperation with the Federation of Family History Societies and a number of its member societies. It is not just a list of links to information elsewhere but rather it also contains a large and ever-growing set of specially-produced information pages.

3. FreeGeoscience Australia : Place Name Search

National gazetteer for Australia and offshore territories. Search over 300,000 geographical names for location and spelling as well as links to Geoscience Australia mapping products. Also provides sheet number and name for the 1:100,000 map series. The Gazetteer of Australia is compiled by Geoscience Australia and is part of the Geoscience Australia website.

A portal which provides links to state, territory and federal government geoscience agencies and information, including the national site Geoscience Australia. Each state and territory website includes links to online databases, maps, exploration information, legislation and other resources. Geoscience Australia which is linked from this page, is Australia's national agency for geoscience research and geospatial information. The Geoscience Australia website provides information on mapping, place names, aerial photography, satellite imagery, geology and minerals. 5. FreeGoogle News Archive

Google: A digitised collection of historical newspapers, including major newspapers/magazines, news archives and legal archives. Search results include both content that accessible to all users and and content that requires a fee. Included titles originate from around the world, although many early titles originate in the United States.

6. FreeGovernment gazettes Research Guide

National Library of Australia: A guide to finding information in both Australian and overseas government gazettes held at the National Library of Australia. Refers to both print and online publications.

7. FreeGovernment Online Directory (Australia)

Australian Government Information Management Office: This directory is a guide to the structure, organisations and key people in the Australian Government. As well as containing contact details for the Commonwealth Parliament, the Governor-General, Commonwealth courts and other government departments and agencies, it also lists the legislation administered by each government agency.

8. FreeGovernment Property and Tenancy Registers 1925 to 1968

ACT Government: A collection documenting Government housing properties in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) from 1925 to 1968. Part of the Commonwealth records series A7752, these registers list the tenants' names, rental details, type of house, Block/Section/Division (Suburb) and addresses of Government housing in the ACT up to 1968.

National Library of Australia: GovPubs is a guide to selected types of Australian government publications, such as Acts, Hansards, Budget Papers, Gazettes and Parliamentary Papers, located in Australia's National, State and Territory libraries or available on the Internet. A historical description of each publication is provided, and holdings information helps locate resources in each library or online.

: Provides access to Griffiths valuation, the first full scale valuation of property in Ireland. Users can search by family name, or by county, barony, union or parish to locate their ancestor. A Place Name search is also available. Once a person is located, a user can view and zoom in on maps showing all the townlands with map references as stated in Griffiths
