A comprehensive Web database designed to provide a one-stop site for librarians to locate Internet resources related to their profession.

32. FreeInternet Library of Early Journals

Universities of Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Oxford: ILEJ, the 'Internet Library of Early Journals' was a joint project by the Universities of Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Oxford, conducted under the auspices of the eLib (Electronic Libraries) Programme. It aimed to digitise substantial runs of 18th and 19th century journals, and make these images available on the Internet, together with their associated bibliographic data. The project finished in 1999, and no additional material will be added.

: An annotated collection of high quality Internet resources, contributed by volunteers and librarians. Websites and resources are selected to maintain a broadly representative collection of websites for information, reference and research. The site is constantly updated.

34. FreeIrish Archives Resource

Heritage Council of Ireland: The Irish Archives Resource enables researchers/users to search for publicly accessible archival collections that are located in Ireland. It contains contains web links from each descriptive entry to repository home pages, detailed item level finding aids, databases, or digital objects.

35. FreeIrish Convicts to NSW 1791-1830s

This database contains details of Irish convicts who were transported to New South Wales in the period 1788-1849, passenger lists of ships carrying Irish convicts, and links to other resources.

36. FreeIrish Family History Foundation Online Genealogy Databases for Ireland

Irish Family History Foundation: This site contains the largest collection of parish records for Ireland that are searchable online. A search for individuals may be conducted for all of Ireland or for particular counties or locations. A fee is required to view the record.

37. FreeIrish history online

Royal Irish Academy: Irish History Online is an authoritative listing of what has been written about Irish history from earliest times to the present. It lists writings on Irish history published since the 1930s, with selected material published in earlier decades. It includes bibliographic information on books and pamphlets, articles from journals published in Ireland or internationally, and chapters from books of essays, including Festschriften and conference proceedings.

38. FreeIrish Transportation Records

: Transportation records of convicts departing from Ireland 1788-1868. These records are not complete. This index contains references to records on microfilm held in the Newspaper and Family History zone of the Main Reading Room (microfilm drawer Ireland-Australia, mfm N 503). The microfilm are also known as the Irish Gift, being a gift from the government of Ireland to Australia on the occasion of the Australian Bicentenary in 1988.

It includes people behind the accomplishments in 21 broad subject categories in life sciences, medicine, physical sciences, engineering and social sciences. These individuals are the most highly cited within each category for the period 1981-1999.

40. FreeIsle of Man iMuseum

Manx National Heritage: Provides online access to the archive, library and museum collections of Manx National Heritage. Free access is provided to indexes to family history information, thousands of photographs portraying people, places and topics relating to the Isle of Man, digital images of works by Manx artists, a selection of images relating to archaeology, natural history and social history collections in the Manx Museum. Searching of newspaper indexes is free, however charges apply if you wish to view the full articles.
