J.S. Shaw North Publishing: This online database records details of 27, 500 births in the Australian colonies, representing approximately 15,000 pioneer families. The breakdown of the records are: 23,648 in New South Wales, 2,600 in Tasmania, 885 on Norfolk Island, 330 Aborigines or part-Aborigines, 1 on Kangaroo Island (S. Aust.), 1 on Melville Island (N.T.) and 9 on King Island (Tas.). This CD-ROM is the online version of the 2nd ed. of the print "Births in Australia 1788-1828" compiled by James Hugh Donohoe. Print editions can requested online from the catalogue for use in the Main Reading Room.

Information for each ship includes the port and date of departure, date of arrival, number of emigrants, and their age-class and regions of origin. Includes a list of births and deaths at sea for these ships.
