J.S. Shaw North Publishing: This online database records details of 27, 500 births in the Australian colonies, representing approximately 15,000 pioneer families. The breakdown of the records are: 23,648 in New South Wales, 2,600 in Tasmania, 885 on Norfolk Island, 330 Aborigines or part-Aborigines, 1 on Kangaroo Island (S. Aust.), 1 on Melville Island (N.T.) and 9 on King Island (Tas.). This CD-ROM is the online version of the 2nd ed. of the print "Births in Australia 1788-1828" compiled by James Hugh Donohoe. Print editions can requested online from the catalogue for use in the Main Reading Room.

Titles available in the Full Text collections include: Australian Literary and Historical Texts, Australian Classic Works (contemporary Authors on demand at Sydney University Press), Australian Federation Full Text Database ( the national debates and auxiliary writings of the 1890's, Australian Cooperative Digitisation Project 1840-45: Novels and Periodicals, Australian Poets: Brennan, Harford and Slessor, Journals of Inland Exploration, First Fleet and Early Settlement (manuscripts and published journals of the First Fleet).

Mura Gadi is an online guide to significant manuscripts, pictures and oral histories in the National Library of Australia relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples prior to 2003.
