Double hemispherical map of the world. One of two 'modern' world maps that appearred in Ruscelli's edition of Ptolemy's 'Geographia'. Engraved on copper it shows a finely detailed double hemisphere map of the world, the first to appear in an atlas. Possibly adapted from the oval projection used for Gastaldi's larger world map. Relief is shown pictorially.
