Notes: A collection of maps relating to the establishment of a Commonwealth-owned Federal Territory within the borders of New South Wales, and the determination of a suitable site for the Federal capital city of the newly independent country of Australia in 1901, no longer a colony of Great Britain. The collection consists almost entirely of the Federal Government produced maps issued over the period 1900-1909. However, one map is included that was produced privately and published commercially. All proposed sites were within the state of New South Wales.
