The Geoffrey Blainey Collection, which includes material on geology, mining and gold, and features the history of gold regions and towns in Australia, was donated to the University by Professor Geoffrey Blainey AC, the University's Foundation Chancellor. The collection is of inestimable research value into the mining regions in Australia and in particular to the Ballarat district.
