What We Collect

Asian Web Archive Collections

The collections featured below are hosted on the Archive-it site of the Internet Archive, the American non-profit ‘internet library’. They consist of websites archived around a theme, and are fully publicly accessible. Click on the links below to see the front page of each collection on the Internet Archive. There you can find a complete list of featured sites and select individual sites for viewing. A site may have been archived more than once depending on its value as an information source and the nature of the collection. New collections are being developed and links will be added here.

Burmese Uprising 2007

This collection features websites of selected non-profit organisations related to the Burmese uprising of 2007. The sites include: Burma Digest, Mizzima News and Assistance Association for Political Prisoner (Burma), covering mainly news related to the political unrest.

Cambodian National Election 2008

This collection features selected governmental, political parties and media websites related to the Cambodian National Election 2008, including the website of the National Election Committee. There are also websites for four of the five major political parties taking part in the election.

East Timor Elections 2007

This collection features selected international intergovernmental and East Timorese websites related to the presidential and parliamentary elections of East Timor in 2007. It includes voter education and political advertising material.

Indonesian Islamic Organisations 2007

This collection features the websites of over 25 important Islamic organisations operating in Indonesia.

Thailand Elections 2007

This collection features selected governmental and media websites and political blogsites related to the 2007 Thailand general election. It includes the full website of the Election Commission of Thailand, and The Nation Multimedia’s special site “Our country vote election 2007” with background and daily reports of the parties, candidates, interviews, and a political chat column
