Sakakibara collection (Japan)

The National Library holds the collection of General Shozo Sakakibara (1859-1940). General Sakakibara became an Army Engineering Officer in 1879, served in the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895) and the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905). He was an avid reader and book collector.

The collection of 2,600 volumes in Japanese relate mainly to Shintoism, history, geography, literature, Chinese philosophy and military affairs.
