  • Australian Research in Trove - provides access to the research outputs of Australia's universities.
  • Australian Academy of Science - promotes science through a range of activities.
  • Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre - includes online resources, including Bright Sparcs (biographical database of scientists), and the online version of Technology in Australia 1788-1988.
  • CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) - one of the largest and most diverse scientific research organisations in the world dealing with astronomy and space; energy; environment; farming and food; health and medicine; information and communication technology; manufacturing; materials; mining and minerals; and transpoirt and infrastructure.
  • Defence Science and Technology Organisation - role is to ensure the expert, impartial and innovative application of science and technology to the defence of Australia and its national interests; access provided to online publications, including technical reports and journal articles.

Biological sciences

  • Australian National Herbarium - includes a number of free databases such as the Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) and Flora of Australia Online.
  • Birds Australia - dedicated to the conservation, study and enjoyment of Australia's native birds and their habitats with links to free online publications and databases, including Ornithological Worldwide Literature (OWL).

Earth sciences

  • Bureau of Meteorology (Australia) - information on climate, hydrology, weather warnings and much more.
  • CRC Reef Research Centre - information on the Great Barrier Reef, current research and online scientific publications.
  • Navy Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) - acquires, manages, produces and distributes meteorological and oceanographic information to support the Defence Force and national infrastructure.
  • Australian Mines Atlas - developed by Geoscience Australia with its supporting partners Minerals Council of Australia and Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism. The Mines Atlas is continually being updated with new mineral resource, location data and company web links.
