Igor Youskevitch was one of the most popular dancers to visit Australia with the Monte Carlo Russian Ballet on its tour of 1936–1937. As a principal he danced leading roles in all the main repertoire during the tour and scored particular success with audiences and critics alike as Harlequin in Michel Fokine’s ballet, Le Carnaval.
