The Australian Ballet presents Destiny
Leonide Massine’s first symphonic ballet, Les Presages, forms the heritage half of Destiny, a double bill in which The Australian Ballet pays tribute to this great, Russian choreographer. Contemporary Polish choreographer Krzyzstof Pastor’s new and radically different interpretation of Massine’s later work, Symphonie Fantastique, will form the avant garde half, honouring the spirit of the legendary impresario Serge Diaghilev, whose original Ballets Russes (1909-1929), revolutionized the art of ballet for the 20th century.
