Series 7:
Journalism, 1878-1914
The correspondence, dating from 1891 to 1914, deals with Deakin's occasional journalism, as well as his regular and anonymous contributions to the Morning Post (London). The series contains an almost complete file of clippings of Deakin's letters to the Morning Post between 1901 and 1911. There are also several miscellaneous items, including notes relating to The Age, 1878-1899, a tribute written by Deakin on David Syme's death in 1908, and other miscellaneous clippings of Morning Post letters by Deakin and others. Deakin's Morning Post letters of 1912-1914 are not included in the Deakin Papers. This series contains Items 7/1 - 7/374.
