Projects funded by CHG

In 2009 a maximum of $15,000 in funding is available, plus a place for first time CHG recipients at a preservation workshop in Canberra. Allocation of grants are based on the recommendations of the assessors and availability of funds. No applicant can be guaranteed funding nor can any applicant be guaranteed funding to the full amount requested. Funding may vary from year to year and it is not possible to fund all worthwhile projects.
Projects that
were funded by the 2008 CHG Program must be completed by
1 June 2009 to be eligible to apply in 2009.
Funding Priority
Funding priority will be given to projects that are being carried out in a logical order prioritised as follows:
- Significance assessments
- Preservation needs assessments
- Conservation and preservation activities resulting from the prioritised recommendations of a preservation needs assessment, such as:
- Collection rehousing and management
- Conservation activities, including cleaning, conservation treatment or rebinding
- Purchase and installation of environmental monitoring equipment
- Reformatting of original material for preservation and access purposes and ongoing planning for the collection’s maintenance (includes audiovisual and digitisation projects)
- Purchasing cataloguing or collection management software
- Training
