Using Microform in Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room

Where a title is held in both printed and microform versions, the Library's policy is that the microform is used for most purposes, in order to preserve the original.

Copying from Microform

All copying must observe the Copyright Act, 1968.

Copying can be made from most microform materials. The Newspapers and Microforms Reading Room has 23 A4 reader/printer and scanner enabled machines

Charges apply for printing copies from Microform. There is no charge for making a digital copies.

Photographic images may be ordered by using our copies direct service.

Borrowing a microform from us

Offsite users can access items held in microform format through the interlibrary loan system operating in your local library.
