Tarala Collection (Russia)

Mr A. Tarala left Russia shortly after the Revolution and lived in China until 1963 when he came to Australia. While in China he amassed a large library relating to Russian social and intellectual history in the late Czarist period and the post-1917 era, including many emigre imprints, as well as a representative selection of modern Russian literature and works on fine arts.

The Tarala collection supplements several of the Library's collections held on microfilm, including Russian historical sources, Krasnyi archiv, and the Menshevik Collection.
