Trovember
Trove turns five!
14 October 2014
Trove is pleased to announce that November has been cancelled this year and taking its place is Trovember! Why, you ask? Well this year Trove is turning five and we’re celebrating! Trovember will be a month of talking about how Trove has influenced research, changed lives and entertained. We’ll also be sharing some thoughts about where we hope to go in the future.
THATCamp Canberra 2014
THATCamp Canberra is the first event on the Trovember calendar. It will take place at the National Library from 31 October to 2 November. THATCamps (The Humanities and Technology) are user-generated unconferences in the digital humanities. Participants come together and create sessions on topics they're interested in exploring. THATCamp Canberra will also include a series of introductory workshops covering everything from text analysis to the poetics of online collections.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, registrations are open so sign up now! Otherwise, be sure to follow what’s happening on Twitter.
Troveia
Later in Trovember, on 21 November, the Trove team are hosting a Troveia night at the National Library of Australia for institutions around Canberra that contribute to Trove. It’ll be just like a regular trivia night, only all the answers are found in Trove and the use of devices to search for answers isn’t only encouraged, it’s necessary!
These kids look ready for Troveia, are you?

If, like me, you’re a trivia tragic and you’ve just realised you aren’t a staff member of a Canberra institution that contributes to Trove, never fear! People can play along with Troveia at home by following Trove on Twitter to get the questions and posting your answers in a Trove list. You can use the hashtag #troveia to join in on the fun and you can find out more information on how to create a list by checking out the Trove help. We'll post more details about the online event soon.
Those are the two main events on the Trovember calendar, but we’ll be filling up the rest of the month by blogging, tweeting and sharing Trove news and views as widely as possible. We hope you’ll join us.
