The National Library Foundation Board (formerly the Development Council) was established to assist the Library with philanthropic support and corporate partnerships for the purposes of conservation and digitisation, broadening access to the Library's collections, exhibitions and public programs. The current Chair of the Foundation is Kevin McCann AM. At present, the National Library Foundation Board members are:
Kevin McCann AM
Mr McCann is Chairman of Macquarie Group Ltd. and Macquarie Bank Ltd. and Chairman of Origin Energy Ltd. He is a former Council member of the National Library and current Chair of the National Library Foundation.
Sue Ebury
Lady Ebury is a former publishing director, the editor of The War Diaries of Weary Dunlop, and the author of Weary: The Life of Sir Edward Dunlop (1994) and its illustrated edition, Weary: King of the River, as well as The Many Lives of Kenneth Myer (2009). She is an Honorary Research Associate in the history department at the University of Hong Kong and is the National Patron and one of the founders of the Australian Garden History Society.
Lorraine Elliott AM
Ms Elliott is a former Australian politician. She was the Member for Mooroolbark (Liberal Party) in the Victorian Parliament from 1992 to 2002. Currently, she is Chair of the Advisory Council at St. Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne.
Julia King AM
Ms King is former Chief Executive of Louis Vuitton Australia Pty. Limited, a former Director of Carla Zampatti Pty Ltd and a former Director of Opera Australia . Currently, she is Chairman of iCash Payment Systems Limited. She is a former Council member of the National Library.
Janet McDonald AO
Ms McDonald is a former Council member of the National Library and is currently a Member of the Governing Council for South Eastern Health Network. She has served on numerous boards and committees, including: Royal Hospital for Women (Chair) and Royal Hospital for Women Foundation (Chair); National Breast Cancer Centre (Chair) and National Breast Cancer Foundation (Chair); Cancer Australia; Neuroscience Institute of Schizophrenia and Allied Disorders (Chair); Drug Utilisation Sub-Committee of Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee; Powerhouse Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences; Centenary Institute of Cancer Medicine and Cell Biology Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Central; Benevolent Society NSW; NSW Women's Advisory Council Women's Health Committee and Arts Committee (Deputy Chair); Central Sydney Area Health Service, NSW Ministerial Committee on Women's Health; The Australian Theatre for Young People (Chair); The Australian Brandenburg Chamber Orchestra; and, ‘Vienna' Hunter's Hill Trust Bicentennial Project.

Ms Thomas is Director of Media, Public Affairs and Brand Development at Bauer Media Group (formerly ACP Magazines) and a former Council member of the National Library.
