The Wild Goose is a story of thwarted love by an author influenced by Western writing but still profoundly engaged with Japanese life and its traditions.  Meredith McKinney's new translation beautifully captures the nuances of this traditional short novel for a Western audience.

Finlay Lloyd Publishers invite you to celebrate the publication of Six by John Clanchy and The Wild Goose translated by Meredith McKinney.  Both books will be officially launched by eminent writer and scholar Tessa Morris-Suzuki, Professor of Japanese History at the Australian National University.  Professor Morris-Suzuki's talk will be followed by a short reading from both authors.
