Relics, ethics and addicts

A workshop addressing market influences on a rare book today.
This workshop is geared towards library professionals who would like to gain a better understanding of the international market for rare books.
Rare books often travel the world as objects of desire for collectors, librarians and dealers. In recent years, the market for the rare book has become increasingly transparent. Old codes are now used alongside new practices; challenges have arisen for all parties involved.
For institutions, it may be especially interesting to pause for a moment and survey old habits and recent changes in the open market for rare books.
See www.relicsethicsandaddicts.com for a complete course description. For further information please email Ernst Spek (ernst.spek@gmail.com) or Natasha Herman (natasha.herman@gmailcom).
