When in Sydney, Ballet Rambert dancers often spent time at ‘Merioola’, a boarding establishment in the Sydney suburb of Woollahra. It housed a bohemian colony of Australian artists, including Loudon Sainthill, Donald Friend, Justin O’Brien and Alec Murray. At ‘Merioola’ many theatrical and literary collaborations took place.
