A few Australians, including Valrene Tweedie, Dorothy Stevenson and Alison Lee, danced with the Russian companies in Australia either as extras in the bigger productions or as permanent members of the company. Like the Pavlova tours, the Ballets Russes tours inspired many young Australians to take up dancing careers.
