Wild Places: Photographs by Richard Green

Richard Green is a photographer who lives in Sydney. Retiring in 1987 from a career developing high tech conventions he now pursues his passion for landscape photography and for helicopters. This exhibition is part of VIVID: The National Photography Festival.
The Opening Chapter: Building the National Library
11 April – 12 October 2008
Visitor Centre
The emphasis in this display will be on the physical attributes of the building itself. It will feature the vision of architects Bunning and Madden, photographs of the interior by Max Dupain and the important contribution of artists Tom Bass and Leonard French. The Library, with its elegant classical lines, is a major landmark in the Parliamentary Triangle and the principal storehouse of Australia’s documentary heritage. This exhibition also has an online presence .

Travelling Exhibitions
The
National Library of Australia has provided access to its diverse collection through an innovative Travelling
Exhibition program since 1994. Since its inception nearly two million people have visited
14 touring exhibitions at 118 venues in every state and territory.
Treasures Gallery
In
early 2009 the National Library will begin construction of its Treasures Gallery and
a new Exhibition Gallery. These state of the art display spaces will be the realisation of years of research, planning and fundraising.
