School Exhibition

This links to Level 5 of the National Profiles in The Arts.

This activity leads on from previous work done by students working on the Nora Heysen education materials and gives them a chance to exhibit their work to others.

Ask students to stage an art exhibition in the classroom. Collect all works completed previously and mount them for the exhibition.

Design posters and invitations to advertise the exhibition.

Send out invitations to other classes in the school and to parents and friends.

If appropriate, provide nibblies for the guests.

Extension work

Organise with an English class or another art class for them to be art critics. The critics should come and takes notes on the exhibition, to be written up as a newspaper report.
