I have found an item in your catalogue, how can I access it online?

The majority of items found in the Library’s catalogue are physical items and are not available online. If a digitised version is available there will be a link to it from within the catalogue record.

The National Library digitises selected items in its collections. All digitisation undertaken by the Library must observe the Copyright Act 1968.

You can also access a large amount of electronic items through our eResources. Many of these can be accessed from outside the Library by logging in with your National Library card. If you don't have a card and you are an Australian resident, you can apply for one online.

Some electronic resources are only available onsite in the National Library building. If you can't make it to the National Library check Trove to see if the resource is available at a library near you.
