Australia is bound by the United Nation's Convention and protocol relating to the Status of Refugees. Information on Australia's Refugee and humanitarian programme can be found on the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection website.

For books on Australian government policy and refugees you could try searching our online catalogue. Try searching with the words "refugees government policy australia" (include quotation marks).

If you are unable to visit the National Library, Trove can help you find and get items at libraries near you.
