National & State Libraries Australasia (NSLA) Honorary Fellowships
NSLA Honorary Fellowships 2007-2008
The National Library, with all the Australian state and territory libraries, is a member of the National & State Libraries Australasia (NSLA). Several NSLA libraries, including the National Library of Australia, provide honorary fellowships to support research being undertaken at the libraries.
Applications for the National Library’s National & State Libraries Australasia (NSLA) Honorary Fellowships close annually on 30 June. Applicants will be selected by the Library’s Fellowships Advisory Committee, an independent committee comprising representatives of the Australian academies, the Independent Scholars Association of Australia, the Australian Library & Information Association and the Australian Society of Authors. Applicants will be notified of the success of their applications in August each year.
Fellowship recipients will receive privileged access to the Library’s collections and services including a fully equipped study, PC and internet access, extended access beyond the Library’s public hours of opening, free photocopying and interlibrary loans.
The NSLA Honorary Fellowships at the National Library are suitable for researchers who do not need financial support to undertake extended research at the National Library, but for whom the special access privileges and a formal association with the Library are beneficial, such as academic staff wishing to undertake study leave. It is expected that the Fellowships would normally be for a period of around three months but applications for a Fellowship of shorter or longer duration will be considered.
