The story of Federation is an epic tale of Australia. This three part journey to nationhood looks at the land, the people, and the nation, recounting stories of the founding fathers and of the people from six separate colonies during the decades preceding Federation. The story is presented in 3 episodes: The Land, The People and The Nation.
Using historical footage and interviews with authorities of Australian history, this film traces Australia's emergence from a group of colonies to Federation. The careers of Australia's first six prime ministers, Sir Edmund Barton, Alfred Deakin, John Watson, George Reid, Andrew Fisher, Joseph Cook are traced. The seventh prime minister Sir William Morris Hughes is also introduced. |
