Andrew Hassam
Andrew Hassam is Senior Lecturer in Australian Studies at the National Centre for Australian Studies, Monash University, and is currently Vice-President of the International Australian Studies Association (InASA). His publications include Sailing to Australia (1994) and Through Australian Eyes (2000). He is currently writing Whingeing Poms and Whining Aussies, a study of the creation of the ‘whingeing Pom’ stereotype in Australia in the 1950s and its adaptation to serve the new social and political debates of the 1960s and 1970s.
