Benjamin Penny
Dr Benjamin Penny is a historian of China whose main interests lie in religious and spiritual movements and doctrines. He received his PhD from the ANU in 1994 in Daoist studies after periods of research at the universities of Sydney , Cambridge and Beijing . At the beginning of 2003 he took up a fellowship at the Centre for Cross-Cultural Research which he holds concurrently with a position at the Freilich Foundation. He is presently studying the contemporary banned spiritual movement, the Falun Gong.
