Christa Knellwolf
Dr Christa Knellwolf is a cultural historian at the National Europe Centre at the Australian National University. She has published widely on cultural change during early modernity and the period of Enlightenment. Recent publications include a collection of essays on Exoticism and the Culture of Exploration (2002) and The Enlightenment World (Routledge, 2004). Her current research concentrates on a study of the cultural impact of naval exploration between James Cook’s expeditions and the Austrian Novara circumnavigation (1857–1859).
