Margaret Harris
Margaret Harris is Professor of English Literature at the University of Sydney. She has worked extensively on authors’ unpublished writings, editing The Notebooks of George Meredith, with Gillian Beer (1983) and The Journals of George Eliot, with Judith Johnston (1998). Her edition of the letters, held in the National Library, between the great Australian novelist Christina Stead and her husband, William J. Blake will be published by Melbourne University Publishing in September 2005. She is Christina Stead’s literary executor.
