Martin Thomas
Martin Thomas is a writer and radio producer. He won the New South Wales Premier’s Audio/Visual History Prize in 2000 for the radio documentary This is Jimmie Barker and the Gleebooks Prize for Literary and Cultural Criticism in the 2004 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards for The Artificial Horizon: Imagining the Blue Mountains (MUP 2003). As a Harold White Fellow, Martin researched the unpublished papers of the Australian surveyor-turned-anthropologist R. H. Mathews and is now completing a biographical study that considers the contemporary relevance of early attempts to document Aboriginal culture.
