Sarah Dowse
Sara Dowse was raised in New York City and Los Angeles. At the age of 19, she migrated to Australia where she later joined the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to head its newly established Women’s Affairs Section. Her first novel, West Block appeared in 1983 and she subsequently published Silver City, Schemetime, Sapphires and Digging. Dowse has received a number of awards and fellowships, including the ACT Book of the Year Award for Sapphires.
