Ms Margaret Jones
Director Library Services, Murdoch University, Australia

Margaret Jones is currently Director of Library Services at Murdoch University, and has worked at Murdoch since 1994, initially as Information Services Librarian. Prior to her appointment at Murdoch she worked at the University of Western Australia Library in a number of areas, including acquisitions and collection development, reference services and interlibrary lending.

Murdoch University Library is actively involved in a range of collaborative activities at both a local and national level. The Western Australian Group of University Librarians (WAGUL) provides a framework for local collaboration with respect to lending, interlibrary lending, and joint purchasing, as well as engaging in specific projects. Recently these have included the joint purchase and implementation of FDI's VDX software for interlibrary lending, and the joint selection and acquisition of an authentication system for use across the five Western Australian universities. Murdoch University also manages a joint library service at its Rockingham Regional Campus with its partners the City of Rockingham and Challenger TAFE. A further joint library service on the Peel Education and Training Campus is currently under investigation.
