Barbara Shuh

Barbara Shuh has been the Maintenance Agent for the ISO Interlibrary Loan Applications Standards Maintenance Agency, at the National Library of Canada since 1996. In that role, she has contributed to the developments for the application of all four of the communications protocols for libraries she will be discussing in her presentation. She is editor of the IPIG Profile for the ILL Protocol and the Guidelines for Implementors of the Profile, editor of Version 1.0 of the Bib-2 Attribute Set (Z39.50), the new bibliographic attribute set formulated according to the new Z39.50 Attribute Architecture. As a member of the NISO Committee AT, she took on the responsibility for the development of the data dictionary for the NISO Z39.83, the Circulation Interchange Protocol. Barbara has had an continuing interesting X.500 and LDAP and the application of those protocols for Interlibrary Loan services. A paper that Barbara wrote on X.500 and LDAP is referenced in Webopedia, the online dictionary for computer and internet terms.
